Au troisième jour du conflit entre Israël et le Hamas, des diplomates de divers horizons essaient de nouer le fil des négociations entre les deux parties pour trouver une issue rapide à la crise.
Une mission qui s’annonce difficile, d’autant plus que les positions semblent figées de part et d’autre.
L’armée israélienne a ordonné lundi un siège total de la bande de Gaza contrôlée par le Hamas, alors que la guerre a déjà fait plus de 1.400 morts.
De son côté, le Hamas se montre aussi ferme. “Aucune négociation” n’est possible pour le moment avec Israël, a affirmé lundi un responsable du Hamas, basé à Doha, au troisième jour de l’opération “Déluge d’Al Aqsa” lancée sur Israël par le mouvement palestinien.
“L’opération militaire se poursuit et la résistance, menée par les Brigades Al-Qassam (branche armée du Hamas), continue de défendre les droits de notre peuple, donc il n’y a actuellement aucune négociation possible sur la question des prisonniers ou autre” avec Israël, a déclaré Hossam Badrane, membre du bureau politique du Hamas.
Malgré ce langage rude et ferme, des signes d’ouverture laissent espérer des pourparlers entre les deux parties.Un haut responsable du Hamas a déclaré que le groupe était ouvert à des discussions sur une éventuelle trêve avec Israël, après avoir “atteint ses objectifs”.
En réponse à une question sur la disposition du Hamas à discuter d’un éventuel cessez-le-feu, Moussa Abu Marzouk, un haut responsable du mouvement, a déclaré à la chaîne qatarie Al Jazeera que le Hamas était ouvert à “quelque chose de ce genre” et à “tous les dialogues politiques”.
Dans le même sillage, le prince héritier d’Arabie saoudite Mohammed ben Salmane a informé le président palestinien Mahmoud Abbas qu’il travaillait à empêcher “une expansion” du conflit après l’attaque surprise du Hamas contre Israël, ont rapporté les médias saoudiens tôt mardi.
La spirale de la violence s’est déclenchée en pleine tentative de normalisation des relations entre Israël et l’Arabie saoudite, parrainée par les Etats-Unis.
Pour sa part, le président turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan a mis en garde Israël, lundi, contre une attaque “indiscriminée” de civils à Gaza dans sa guerre contre le Hamas et a exhorté les deux parties au respect des principes humanitaires en situation de conflit.
“Nous demandons à Israël de cesser ses bombardements sur le territoire palestinien et aux Palestiniens de cesser de harceler les colonies israéliennes”, a ajouté le président Erdogan dans une allocution télévisée lundi soir.
Le président turc s’est engagé au nom de son pays à “poursuivre ses efforts pour mettre fin au conflit” lors d’une conversation avec Mahmoud Abbas, a indiqué un communiqué de la présidence.
